VLADISLAV GORANOV: GOVERNMENT MANAGE TO PUT PUBLIC FINANCE IN ORDER
29.10.2012
The Government has managed to put public finance in order and the focus may already be shifted to a policy aimed at gradual increase in income, said Deputy Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov in an interview for bTV. He emphasized that two thirds of the additional expenditure budgeted for 2013 were allocated for pensions. The tax on deposit interest earnings is needed for the more correct application of the flat tax and will to some extent secure the resources needed for the increased income, he added. According to him the proper question was not why such a 10 per cent tax was introduced but rather why it had not been introduced thus far.
The Deputy Minister also commented on the parents' protests for an increase in children's allowance and maternity benefits by emphasizing on the fact that the state should create conditions for the parents' quicker return to the labour market. This would be more favourable for both the parents and the economy, he explained.
