BULGARIA AND VIETNAM WILL STRENGTHEN THEIR BILATERAL COOPERATION

Bulgaria and Vietnam will strengthen their bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism, education and cultural heritage. This became clear during the visit from 2 to 4 September of the Asian country Deputy Prime Minister Nguen Thien Nyan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov.
During the visit of the Vietnamese delegation meetings were held with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, the Minister of Education, Youth and Science and the Minister of Culture. The delegation visited Plovdiv Municipality and the University Hospital there; the Sofia University, other institutions and organizations. Cooperation agreements have been signed between the ministries of foreign affairs and the diplomatic institutes of the two countries.
The two delegations have agreed to work for the attainment of the objectives set during the 22nd Vietnam - Bulgaria Joint Committee Meeting in June 2012. Among those are the implementation of projects to enhance the trade relations and the relationship between the companies in the two countries in the field of agri-food sector, pharmaceutical industry, medical equipment, chemical industry, agriculture, etc.
The effective bilateral relations in the field of education will be renewed through concrete agreements between both countries' responsible institutions. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Sofia University and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanity, including also for teaching Vietnamese language in Bulgaria.
Concrete actions have been outlined for partnership also in the fields of culture and tourism.
