THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION HIGHLY APPRECIATES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OPAC
15.11.2012
Currently there is no risk of losing funds under Operational Programme Administrative Capacity. This became clear during a technical meeting of OPAC Managing Authority and EC representatives in Pravets. The EC highly appreciated the Programme implementation progress and results. Actions have been laid down for the successful completion of the programming period and for the absorption of the whole OPAC budget. For the period July - November 2012 more than BGN 257 million (72.8% of the total budget) have been contracted and more than BGN 129 million (36.6% of the funds) have been actually paid to beneficiaries.
Next year central and local administrations would be able to apply for EU funds in excess of BGN 6.8 million under OPAC. Project proposals should be focused on optimization of the structures and mechanisms of the state administration and the judiciary; on improving the monitoring of performance and on e-administrative services development.
The 2013 Indicative Working Programme of OPAC has been approved in Pravets. It foresees by the end of the programme period the funding of projects to improve the effectiveness and transparency of the work of both the state administration and the judiciary.
