THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE REOPENED 7-YEAR EURO DENOMINATED GOVERNMENT SECURITIES WITH MATURITY IN 2020

The Ministry of Finance reopened for the 5th time a 7-year Euro denominated Government Securities (GS) issue with maturity 16 January 2020. At the auction held on 30 September 2013 securities of face value EUR 20 million were offered for sale, the subscription reached EUR 55.6 million, the coverage coefficient being 2.78. The yield achieved on the whole amount approved is 3.05%. Banks acquired 66.55% of the amount of GS offered, pension funds - 28.70%, and contractual funds - 4.75%. After the auction the issue totals EUR 120 million.

The yield is below the respective values on bonds with similar characteristics of a number of EU Member States such as Slovenia (6.23%), Croatia (5.03%), Hungary (4.99%), Romania (4.43%), Spain (3.55%), Italy (3.76%), Ireland (3.38%).
