"The financial audit of the electricity distribution companies (EDCs) shows very bad management. The problem does not lie in their ownership. It has been proven over time that state-owned enterprises do not function well, too." This is how Deputy Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov commented on the sensitive topic about EDCs on TV7. According to him, it would be good for the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission to be approved by parliament so as to guarantee maximum impartiality and professionalism. He confirmed once again that the lack of fairness and transparency in the system would not be compensated by a nationalization.

"The state has interfered and guaranteed the timely payment of the subsidies for farmers, we managed to find a solution by pulling together all our efforts so as to provide for hearing the problems of farmers", said Mr. Goranov in response to the question about the payments to farmers and the tension in the sector which was subdued by the government on Friday. He reminded that BGN 850 million had been ordered on the budget of the State Agriculture Fund on Friday. In addition to that, there would be no need for farmers to mount devices for the so-called company gas stations which, would additionally aggravate their business.
