М. DIMITROVA-BEECHER: THE DEADLINES FOR IMPLEMENTING PROJECTS UNDER OPAC COULD NOT BE EXTENDED ANYMORE

18.09.2012

\"OPAC\"

The Programme provides BGN 2.5 million for modernisation of the Ministry of Interior

The project proposals should have realistic budgets and expenditure as per market prices and applicants should attach two indicative price offers. These are some of the most important requirements that should be taken account of when applying for EU funding. The absence of such offers may result in project proposal rejection, said the Head of OPAC Managing Authority Monika Dimitrova-Beecher at the opening of today's information day. The information day was held on the occasion of the opening of a new procedure for grants under sub-priority 2.2 - Competent and Effective Public Administration. The Head of OPAC emphasized that it was very important to finance good quality projects related to improving the competences and investing in people - the very reason for opening a procedure under this particular priority axis.

For BGN 2.5 million from the European Social Fund under the procedure can apply only the Ministry of Interior Institute of Phycology. The aim is to improve the managing capacity for organisational development of the MoI through introducing the principles of modern management, namely streamlining the selection, leadership, motivation and career development practices of employees. The procedure target groups can be management employees and human resource management employees within the MoI structures. Specialised training software could be developed with OPAC money for the purpose, but the expenditure therefor could not exceed 15% of the overall project budget. The deadline for application is 17:30 H, 15 October.

It should be noted that the deadlines for implementing projects under OPAC could not be extended anymore, because we are at the end of the programming period. This means very good planning and budgeting by the applicants under the Programme, added the Programme Head. She announced that on Friday, 21 September, a new procedure would be opened targeted at all employees within the MoI system. The information day will be held at Sheraton Hotel at 10:30 H.
