MoF Expects Excess of Revenues over Expenditures of BGN 940 million under Consolidated Fiscal Programme as of January 2022

Based on preliminary data and estimates, the Consolidated Fiscal Programme (CFP) budget balance for January 2022 is expected to be positive, amounting to BGN 940 million (0.7 % of the projected GDP) for 2015. For comparison, an excess of revenues over expenditures of BGN 409.7 million was reported in January 2021. CFP revenues, grants and donations in January 2022 increase as compared to those reported in the same month of the previous year (by around 16.5 per cent).

Key CFP parameters based on preliminary data and estimates:

CFP revenues, grants and donations for January 2022 are expected to amount to BGN 4,325 million and grow by BGN 612 million as compared to those reported in January 2021. CFP tax and non-tax proceeds increase in nominal terms by BGN 604 million as against January 2021, while grant and donation proceeds (mostly grants under EU programmes and funds) are close to those reported in the same month of the previous year.

The Consolidated Fiscal Programme expenditures, including the contribution of the Republic of Bulgaria to the EU budget, amount to BGN 3,385 million for January 2022. For comparison, the CFP expenditures for January 2021 amount to BGN 3,302.9 million.

The part of Bulgaria’s contribution to the EU budget, as paid from the central budget as of 31.012021, amounts to BGN 133.1 million, which complies with the existing legislation in the area of EU own resources.

The statistical data and the Information Bulletin on the Execution of the State Budget and the key Consolidated Fiscal Programme indicators based on the monthly cash execution reports of first-level spending units' budgets for January 2022 will be published on the website of the Ministry of Finance at the end of February 2022.
