OPAC SUPPORTS JUDICIARY ADMINISTRATION
18.05.2012
Country-wide representatives of the judiciary took part in the information days organized by OPAC under sub-priority \"Competent judiciary and effective human resource management\". Grant assistance under this procedure totals BGN 7 million, with the minimum cost of individual projects being BGN 50,000 and no maximum threshold existing. It will finance activities aimed to improve the qualification of judges and legal assistants in dealing with cases under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts. Another priority is improving the qualification of administrative heads, judicial officers and administrators with a view to better performance of their obligation.
Court officers are also interested in the possibilities for training on how to work with specific groups of citizens, i.e. illiterates, persons without any legal knowledge or deaf and numb people, as well as in improving their computer literacy and linguistic skills. Around 30-35 projects are expected to be financed which are to be implemented within 18 months. If there is great interest from courts, it will be possible to increase the budget of the procedure.
