SIMEON DJANKOV: STABILITY IS THE BASIS WE SHOULD BUILD UPON
23.01.2013
The state must be stable, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov for Nova TV and added that "stability is the basis we should build upon". In addition he said "This is just spending as much money as the state has available" and no extra spending should be made because that could result in a financial collapse as in 1996. Mr. Djankov also ensured that should the next finance minister be from GERB, next year's budget would be performed.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that there were no Christmas bonuses in the four ministries mentioned. The new legal amendments have put an end to any non-transparent practices with the bonuses given to public administration employees. According to these amendments, bonuses may be given in certain months but not just before Christmas. Mr. Djankov also denied the allegations that 2,100 employees had been employed during the term of office of this government without competition. He specified that this concerned reappointments and temporary replacement in the public administration.
