MINISTER OF FINANCE SIMEON DJANKOV WILL TAKE PART IN THE ECOFIN MEETING IN BRUSSELS

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov has left for Brussels where on 21 February an ECOFIN meeting will be held.
Today, 20 February, Minister Djankov will participate in the informal meeting on macroeconomic dialogue of finance ministers with representatives of EC, ECB, the current presidency of the Council and the future two presidencies - of Cyprus and Ireland. The President of the Eurogroup and social partners will also take part in the meeting.
During the meeting on 21 February the ministers will discuss issues related to the EC proposal for strengthening economic governance; they will exchange views on the EC alert mechanism report relevant to the prevention and correction of macroeconomic imbalances, as well guidelines for the 2013 EU budget. In respect of the European Semester, including the Euro+Pact, the ministers are to adopt Council Conclusions as a contribution to the European Council meeting on 1 and 2 March 2012.
