Central government debt{1} stands at EUR 12,072.9 million as at end-June 2018. Domestic debt amounts to EUR 2,949.3 million and external debt – to EUR 9,123.6 million.

At the end of the reporting period the central government debt-to-gross domestic product (GDP) ratio{2} is 22.6%, with the share of domestic debt being 5.5% and of external debt – 17.1% of GDP. In the central government debt structure, at the end of the period domestic debt amounts to 24.4%, and external debt – to 75.6%.

The weighted average interest rate on debt for the period 01.01.2018 – 30.06.2018 is 2.70%, decreasing by 9 basis points as compared to the same period of 2017 (2.79%).   

As of 30 June 2018, the central government guaranteed debt amounts to EUR 320.5 million. Domestic guarantees amount to EUR 35.0 million and external guarantees – to EUR 285.5 million. The central government guaranteed debt/GDP ratio is 0.6%.

According to the official register of government and government guaranteed debt kept by the Ministry of Finance on the grounds of Article 38(1) of the Government Debt Law, at end-June 2018 the government debt reaches EUR 11,410.4 million, or 21.3% of GDP. Domestic debt amounts to EUR 2,887.4 million and external debt – to EUR 8,523.0 million. 

 Government guaranteed debt amounts to EUR 988.4 million in June 2018. Domestic guarantees amount to EUR 35.0 million, with the government guaranteed debt-to-GDP ratio being 1.8%.
