10.03.2012
"The VAT rate could be reduced to 18% in two steps", Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov stated in an interview for Capital daily. According to him it is good for Bulgaria to be the state with the lowest direct and indirect tax rates in the EU. Taking into account the European economy growth, which is better than forecasted, Djankov shares the opinion that this year the Bulgarian economy will grow more than 2%. The revenue overperformance for January and February is around BGN 450 million compared to the same period last year and compared to plan it is around BGN 180 million, he added.
The question about the Silver Fund is not whether, but what percentage of its assets should be invested in Bulgarian GS, the Finance Minister commented.
