THE MONTHLY GOVERNMENT DEBT BULLETIN FOR OCTOBER HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

Under the official register of government debt kept by the Ministry of Finance, as of the end of October the latter amounted to EUR 4756,6 million of which EUR 1485,5 million domestic government debt and EUR 3271,2 million external government debt. The debt has increased by around EUR 33,5 million in nominal terms compared to the previous month. The debt increase is due mainly to the increase of the domestic debt.
The government guaranteed debt in October was EUR 612 million; its registered reduction compared to September is due mainly to exchange rate differences.
At the end of the reported period the government debt/ GDP* ratio is 14,6%, the increase being 0.1 percentage points compared to September. This indicator comprises external government debt - 10%, and domestic government debt - 4,6% of GDP. The government guaranteed debt/GDP ratio is 1,9%.
In the government debt structure at the end of the period domestic debt amounted to 31,2%, and external debt - 68,8%.
The debt payments made in October amount to BGN 22,8 million of which: BGN 13,7 million external and BGN 9,1 million domestic debt. As regards the currency composition of payments the greatest is the BGN share - 53%, followed by those in Euro - 32,9%, and in US$ - 12,7%.
