MORE THAN BGN 12 MILLION HAVE BEEN APPROVED UNDER OPAC FOR STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY OF BULGARIAN MUNICIPALITIES

The value of the projects approved under OPAC for strengthening the capacity of Bulgarian municipalities exceeds BGN 12 million. The projects pertain to strengthening the capacity at local level, investing in the qualification of their employees and streamlining the structures and processes within the administrations concerned.
Under the OPAC sub-priority 2.2. - Competent and Effective Public Administration - procedure a project of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria has been approved to the amount of around BGN 4 million aiming at strengthening the capacity at local level through training of municipal employees.
Under the sub-priority 1.1 - Effective Structure of Public Administration - procedure 62 project proposals of municipal administrations have been approved totalling BGN 8.3 million whose aim is to enhance the effectiveness of local administration work. A good indicator for the quality of the information campaign held under the procedure is the high percentage of approved project proposals of all the submitted under the procedure 65 projects. Thus the total amount of the projects approved under OPAC in the summer season is BGN 12.2 million.
A continuation of the policy to enhance the professional skills and effectiveness of the administration are the forthcoming procedures under OPAC sub-priority 2.2. announced for public consultation on the Programme website. The official submission of project proposals will be launched in the period 10-17 September 2012.
