THE MONTHLY GOVERNMENT DEBT BULLETIN WAS PUBLISHED

The monthly Government Debt bulletin for April was published on the Ministry of Finance website in Government Debt and Financial Markets/Statistics section.
Under the official register kept by the Ministry of Finance, as of the end of April the government debt amounted to EUR 4876.3 million of which EUR 1 454.9 million domestic government debt and EUR 3421.4 million external government debt. The debt has increased by around EUR 122.7 million in nominal terms compared to the previous month; its increase is due to the new financing received.
The government guaranteed debt in April was EUR 625.1 million; its reduction is due to the payments made.
At the end of April the government debt/ GDP* ratio is 13.0%, the increase being 0.4 percentage points compared to March. This indicator comprises external government debt - 9.1%, and domestic government debt - 3.9% of GDP. The government guaranteed debt/GDP ratio is 1.7%.
In the government debt structure at the end of the period domestic debt amounted to 29.8%, and external - 70.2%.
The debt payments made in April amount to BGN 22.2 million of which: BGN 13.4 million external and BGN 8.8 million domestic debt. As regards the currency composition of payments the greatest is the BGN share - 56.6%, followed by those in Euro - 30.3% and US$ - 12.7%.
