REGULAR IMF MISSION VISITS BULGARIA TILL 9 MAY

The regular IMF mission under Article IV headed by Ms. Catriona Purfield will visit Bulgaria in the period 2-9 May. The mission will discuss the major short-term and medium-term macroeconomic forecasts and assumptions, the economic growth policies, the drivers for economic recovery, the outcome of structural reforms, etc. Fund experts will be having meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov, with Deputy Ministers Pencheva and Goranov, with Ministry of Finance experts, as well as with BNB staff and representatives of the business and NGOs.
At the kickoff meeting Deputy Minister of Finance Ms. Boryana Pencheva made the IMF team familiar with the country's macroeconomic indicators. She highlighted that the financial stability is a prerequisite for economic growth and that the Government was working in several directions to achieve this.
