Instructions of the Minister of Finance are to be issued, clarifying the taxation of the so called donation SMSs, Deputy Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov said in an interview for BNT. "The existing law is clear - money donations made using the services of mobile operators are not subject to VAT", he clarified. "If the law needs to be amended in order to be correctly interpreted we will table such an amendment. If the opinion is that no such amendment is necessary, which is our opinion, we are ready to issue instructions of the Minister of Finance, whereby once and for all to regulate the treatment of money donations using the services of mobile operators, i.e. through the so called donation SMSs. Subject to taxation is only the telecommunication service. The money donation itself under the existing law and, if required, under some kind of clarification, will not be subject and is not subject to VAT", the Deputy Minister of Finance clarified.
