06.02.2012
During the first day of its visit to the Russian Federation the delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov met with the Russian Minister of Transport Igor Levitin.
The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister informed the Russian side about Bulgaria's success in ensuring great facilitation for Russian citizens who already have a Schengen visa to travel to Bulgaria without an additional visa. Minister Djankov expressed an expectation that visa facilitation would increase the Russian tourist flow to Bulgaria.
Among the topics discussed between the line ministers of Bulgaria and Russia Ivaylo Moskovski and Igor Levitin was the long standing issue of insufficiency of universal licenses for transportation of goods to Russia. Minister Moskovski made his Russian colleague aware of the new system for allocation of licenses that limits the possibility for re-exportation. The two ministers discussed also the possibility for increasing the annual quota of universal licenses for transportation of goods for 2012.
