An order of the Minister of Finance Petar Chobanov dated 2 September 2013 appoints Mr. Kiril Zhelev as the new Director of the Bulgarian Customs Agency.

Mr. Kiril Zhelev was born in 1949 in the town of Yambol. He has higher education in finance and has long experience in the financial area. He has been a MP at the 7^th Grand National Assembly, 36^th and 37^th National Assembly where he chaired the Budget and Finance Committee. From September 2007 to May 2009 he was a Deputy Minister of Finance responsible for tax policy and revenue administrations. From May 2009 till July 2010 he was a member of the Financial Supervision Commission. His last position was Head of Office of Kristian Vigenin, MEP.
