THE MONTHLY GOVERNMENT DEBT BULLETIN FOR SEPTEMBER HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

Under the official register of government debt kept by the Ministry of Finance, as of the end of September the latter amounted to EUR 4723,1 million of which EUR 1438 million domestic government debt and EUR 3285,2 million external government debt. The debt has decreased by around EUR 24,1  million in nominal terms compared to the previous month. The debt reduction is due mainly to the payments made during the month.

The government guaranteed debt in September was EUR 610,4 million; its reduction is due mainly to the payments made during the month.

At the end of the reported period the government debt/ GDP* ratio is 14,5%, the reduction being 0.1 percentage points compared to August. This indicator comprises external government debt - 10,1%, and domestic government debt - 4,4% of GDP. The government guaranteed debt/GDP ratio is 1.9%.

In the government debt structure at the end of the period domestic debt amounted to 30,4%, and external debt - 69,6%.

The debt payments made in September amount to BGN 93,7 million of which: BGN 80,2 million external and BGN 13,5 million domestic debt. As regards the currency composition of payments the greatest is the BGN share - 53,8%, followed by those in Euro - 31,8%, and in US$  - 12,9%.
