SIMEON DJANKOV: THE STATE WILL HELP WITH THE DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE EARTHQUAKE

23.05.2012

In September it will be clear by how much the pensions will be increased, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov stated in the \"Tazi Sutrin (This Morning)\" program of BTV. He added that the pensions would be increased with the 2013 budget. According to him it would be a good measure to lower the VAT, but it would be more proper to focus on increasing wages. Djankov stated further that he was not expecting high inflation, while about budget revenues his expectations were for BGN 15 billion. Economic growth in 2012 would be 1.4%, but the Deputy Prime Minister clarified that because the situation in the EU was not so good we could not expect that things in Bulgaria would be better.

Simeon Djankov announced that in an hour and a half the first two agencies to be relocated to other Bulgarian cities would become a fact. And these are the Tourism Agency that goes to Plovdiv and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Agency - to Burgas. Djankov was adamant that the Customs Agency would be relocated to Ruse. The Minister announced that all employees who did not have homes in those cities where the agencies were being relocated would be provided with municipal apartments.

The Standing Committee for Protection of the Population from Disasters, Accidents and Catastrophes is ready to receive any requests for reimbursement of the damages caused by the earthquake, Simeon Djankov stated. First will be the requests for public buildings - kindergartens, schools, hospitals, etc. so as the repair works to start on Monday. The Committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov will work during the holidays.
