Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov presented the results from the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the area of economic and financial affairs to the members of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament. Before the Members of the European Parliament, Minister Goranov expressed his confidence that the results achieved by the Bulgarian Presidency were important and significant for the future of the EU and had materialised thanks to the joint efforts and the extremely good institutional interaction. He noted that the success of a Presidency of the Council of the EU on key economic issues could not be credited to just one state, but it was due to the joint efforts of the previous Presidencies, the dialogue among the institutions and the dynamics of the economic logic during the relevant period. In his statement he pointed out that the Bulgarian Presidency had worked with maximum openness and transparency and had done its best to balance the interests of all stakeholders.
