Mr. Roumen Danev has been appointed by an order of the Minister of Finance Petar Chobanov as Deputy Director of the Bulgarian Customs Agency responsible for Customs Intelligence and Investigation and Post-Release Audit.

Mr. Roumen Danev, born on 29 October 1958 in the town of Shoumen, has graduated from the Faculty of Law of St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia in 1990 and has a master's degree in law. He began his professional career in the judiciary as a bailiff at the District Court of Kostinbrod and then as legal advisor with various enterprises. His professional experience at the Bulgarian Customs Agency started in 1995 when he was appointed as an expert at the Litigation Division of the Central Customs Directorate which he subsequently headed. From 2000 to 2009 he was Director of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate. Having left the customs administration, he has taken various legal positions.
