MEETING OF THE OPAC MONITORING COMMITTEE TO BE HELD IN VELINGRAD

The progress in implementation of the OPAC Programme for the period June-November 2011 and the forthcoming project competitions for end-2011 and 2012 will be presented on 10 and 11 November in Velingrad where the 9th Monitoring Committee of the Operational Programme Administrative Capacity (OPAC) Programme will be held.

The head of the OPAC Managing Authority Monica Dimitrova will also discuss the Indicative Annual Programme for 2012 with Committee members. The meeting will consider the possibility for inclusion of the Ministry of Finance and the National Association of Municipalities in Bulgaria as beneficiaries under priority axes 1 and 2 respectively. The results of the Second Interim Report and the Interim Programme Evaluation will also be presented.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission. They will present the legal framework of EU funds for the following programming period of 2014-2020. 

Valeri Borissov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications who is Secretary of the E-Government Council, and Lilia Uleva, Secretary of the Council of Administrative Reform to the Council of Ministers, will take part in the forum on Friday, 11 November. A short documentary of projects selected as examples of good practice will be presented as well.

The Monitoring Committee is the body that monitors the effective implementation of the OPAC Programme. It approves the general criteria for project selection, monitors the periodic progress in the attainment of programme-specific objectives, and approves the annual and final implementation reports.
