The OPAC e-government projects and the procedures planned in that field for 2012 were presented during the 13^th Balkan Regional Conference on E-Governance. Representatives of central and local government, and ICT experts from the administration of Bulgaria and the region took part in the international forum that was held in Sofia on 8-9 March. At the moment 67 contracts in the field of e-government have been concluded under OPAC. Of those 48 contracts are under a procedure to implement e-services in central, district and municipal administrations.

"We have successful projects both in big and small municipalities. A very good example is Banite Municipality", the Head of OPAC Managing Authority Monika Dimitrova said before the participants in the Conference. She reminded that the 2012 Indicative Annual Working Program provided for two procedures in that field: Standard Information and Communication Environment and Interoperatibility focused on central administrations with budget BGN 7 million; and Improving the Service Provided by the Judiciary Bodies through Development of Information Technologies focused on the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Judicial Council with budget BGN 3 million.

Monika Dimitrova presented the projects of the biggest beneficiaries in the e-government field - the Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications and the revenue administrations. These projects are expected to result in an up-date of e-services regulation, connection of key basic registers in the administrations and implementation of about 100 e-services in the administration. The objective of the NRA and Customs Agency implemented projects is to reduce the administrative burden for citizens and businesses and to accelerate the issue of authorizations and permits.
