"No responsible politician, whoever he might be, or whatever small party he might chair, or whatever internal problems he might have in his party, should afford speaking about nationalization of private companies because this presents us badly throughout Europe", Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov commented in an interview for Cross Agency in connection with the proposal to nationalize the EDCs.

This morning I ordered SFCA inspectors to take part in the inspection of the EDCs, the Deputy Prime Minister said. "Our position is that every year the EDCs should be inspected not only by the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, but also by the Court of Auditors particularly in respect of investment expenditure", Djankov clarified. 

Besides, at the moment a check of electric meters on the account of the state is on-going. The Deputy Prime Minister explained that by the end of the week we would have preliminary information how many of the electric meters being checked by the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology showed deviations, whether that was part of the problem or was not a real problem.
