Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov took part in a meeting of the Central and Eastern European finance ministers which took place in Vienna upon an invitation of the Austrian Minister of Finance Hans Jörg Schelling. At the meeting the finance ministers of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Austria discussed the joint initiative of the Czech Republic and Austria for a request to the European Commission for derogation under Article 395 of the VAT Directive 2006/112 on the possibility for introduction a reverse charge mechanism for all transactions above certain value.

Minister Goranov expressed the position that Bulgaria supported all measures for combating VAT fraud and that our country was ready to support such an initiative before the European Commission.
