The Minister of Finance will take part in the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) to be held in Brussels on 12 February 2016.

Within the meeting the EU Finance Ministers are expected to be briefed on the action plan to strengthen measures against terrorist financing as well as to adopt conclusions on this issue. The agenda also includes a discussion of the package of measures against tax avoidance as well as a presentation of information about the state of play in implementing the banking union and the related dossiers.

The Council is expected to discuss and adopt the draft Council recommendation to the European Parliament on the discharge to the European Commission concerning the implementation of the 2014 EU budget and the draft Council conclusions on EU budget guidelines for 2017. During the meeting the High Level Group on Own Resources will present information on the state of play of its work.
