Minister of Finance Petar Chobanov will participate in the meeting of the European Council on Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) to be held in Brussels on 10 December 2013. The agenda includes discussions on the Macroeconomic Imbalance Procedure and the Annual Growth Survey 2014. It is expected that the Economic Partnership Programmes of the states concerned will be assessed. The EU Finance Ministers will debate on the amended proposal of the Council for a directive establishing a framework for the recovery and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms. The proposal for a Directive on Deposit Guarantee Schemes and the legislative proposal for a Single Resolution Mechanism will also be discussed.

The proposal for a Council Regulation establishing a facility for providing financial assistance for Member States whose currency is not euro and the annual report of the Court of Auditors on the implementation of the budget for the financial year 2012 will be presented at the meeting.
