Education:

He is a former pupil of the Mathematics High School in Lovech. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics with the subject of Marketing and Strategic Planning from the University of National and World Economy and has a Master’s degree in Engineering and Technical Sciences with the subject of Land Regulation Planning from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia.

Professional experience:

He has over 15 years of senior management experience in marketing and marketing communications, investment consulting and institutional relations, including building and managing the offices and the operations of the multinational marketing group Havas Worldwide, France, in North Macedonia, Albania, Serbia. His business portfolio includes managed client projects of global companies in the ICT, financial, automotive and healthcare sectors.

From October 2015 to March 2021 he was an advisor of the Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds responsible for economic policy, investment, innovation and financial instruments. In the same period, he took part in the establishment of Fund Manager of Financial Instruments in Bulgaria EAD, being a member of its Board and its chair from 2016 to 2021. In 2021 he set up the State Agency for Research and Innovation under the Council of Ministers, being its head until March 2022. In the same period, he was the head of the Managing Authority of the Research, Innovation and Digitisation Programme for Smart Transformation, the priorities of which include public sector digitisation, public data and cyber security reform. He was in charge of the setting up and negotiation process of the projects assigned to the Agency under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

He is fluent in English and Russian.

In the exercise of his functions Martin Danovsky will conduct the operational management and coordination of the activities of the The Executive Agency Audit of European Union Funds as well as the following directorates at the Ministry of Finance -National Fund and Central Coordination Unit.
