Minister of Finance Petar Chobanov met with the new World Bank Country Director for Central Europe and the Baltic Countries Mamta Murthi. Minister Chobanov expressed gratitude for the many years partnership with the international institution and stated that our country would continue to implement the policy of maintaining fiscal stability. It was noted that the teams of the Bank and the Ministry of Finance had, in an environment of tight public finance expenditure, managed to review the on-going WB financed projects in Bulgaria and to adapt them so that they could achieve their objectives in a consistent with the state budget resources way.

The new World Bank Country Director Mamta Murthi stated that the 20-year cooperation between the WB and Bulgaria had enriched the experience of the institution and was useful in its relations with the other countries of WB operations. The programme of Ms Murthi envisages meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Zinaida Zlatanova, Deputy Prime Minister Daniela Bobeva and the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev.
